1. Purpose

Neponset University is committed to a learning community grounded in respect, integrity, and mutual accountability. This Code applies to all learners in all Neponset settings, including online courses, discussion forums, synchronous sessions, email and messaging, social media interactions involving the institution, and any in-person or hybrid activities.

2. Expected Conduct

Learners are expected to:

Treat all members of the Neponset community with respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.

Communicate honestly and constructively, even in disagreement.

Comply with all institutional policies, instructor expectations, and applicable laws.

Protect the integrity of academic work (see Academic Integrity Policy).

Maintain the confidentiality of other learners’ personal information shared in coursework.

3. Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is prohibited and subject to disciplinary action:

Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation directed at any community member.

Discriminatory conduct based on a protected characteristic.

Sexual harassment or sexual misconduct (see separate Title IX Policy).

Disruption of online courses, sessions, or institutional operations.

Unauthorized access to or sharing of Neponset systems, accounts, or data.

Misrepresentation of identity, credentials, or affiliation with Neponset.

Retaliation against any person who reports a policy violation in good faith.

Any conduct that, while occurring outside Neponset settings, materially undermines the safety, dignity, or operations of the Neponset community.

4. Reporting

Suspected violations may be reported to the Office of Student Affairs at hello@neponset.co or through the institution’s online reporting form. Reports may be made anonymously, with the understanding that anonymous reports may limit the institution’s ability to investigate.

5. Investigation & Adjudication

Reports are reviewed by the Office of Student Affairs. Where investigation is warranted, the respondent learner is notified in writing of the alleged conduct and given an opportunity to respond. Both the reporting and responding parties have the right to support persons throughout the process.

6. Sanctions

Sanctions are calibrated to severity and prior history and may include written warning, required educational intervention, restriction from specific Neponset settings, suspension, or expulsion. All sanctions are documented in the learner’s record.

7. Appeals

Learners may appeal disciplinary findings under the Grievance & Appeals Procedure within fifteen (15) business days of notification.
