1. General Statement
Neponset University is tuition-free. The only fee charged is a $200 course registration fee per course, which is fully waivable upon documented financial need.
2. Course Registration Fee
The $200 course registration fee is charged per course at registration. It is non-refundable after the Drop Period described below, except in cases of duplicate payment or institutional error.
3. Refund Schedule
If a learner drops a course within the first fourteen (14) calendar days of the module (the Drop Period), the course registration fee is refunded in full. The course does not appear on the academic transcript.
If a learner withdraws from a course on day fifteen (15) or later, no refund of the course registration fee is issued. The course appears on the transcript with a grade of W.
If a learner is administratively withdrawn for inactivity, no refund is issued.
4. Certificates
No fee is charged for the issuance of certificates.
5. Extraordinary Circumstances
In documented cases of medical emergency, military deployment, family emergency (death or serious illness of immediate family member), or institutional error, learners may petition the Office of the Registrar for a refund outside the standard schedule. Petitions must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation within sixty (60) days of the precipitating event.
6. Refund Method & Timing
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within thirty (30) days of approval.
7. Massachusetts Consumer Protection
This Refund Policy is intended to comply with Massachusetts consumer protection standards. Learners who believe a refund has been wrongly denied may file a complaint under the Grievance & Appeals Procedure or with the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division.
