1. Commitment
Neponset University is committed to providing equal access to all learners with disabilities, in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Massachusetts Equal Rights Act.
2. Accessibility of Instructional Materials
Neponset designs courses to be accessible by default. All instructional materials are required to meet, at minimum, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards, including:
Captions on all video content.
Transcripts for all audio content.
Alternative text for all instructional images.
Properly structured headings and reading order in documents.
Sufficient color contrast and keyboard navigability.
3. Individualized Accommodations
Learners with documented disabilities may request individualized accommodations through the Office of Accessibility Services at hello@neponset.co. Reasonable accommodations may include:
Extended time on assessments.
Alternative formats for instructional materials.
Assistive technology integration.
Modified deadlines for documented temporary or chronic conditions.
Other accommodations appropriate to the documented need and the academic requirements of the course.
4. Process
Learners submit a request and supporting documentation from a qualified professional to the Office of Accessibility Services. The Office reviews the request, engages the learner in an interactive dialogue, and issues an Accommodation Letter to the learner and to relevant instructors. Accommodations apply prospectively from the date of approval.
5. Confidentiality
Disability documentation is maintained confidentially in a file separate from the learner’s academic record and shared only with personnel who have a legitimate educational need to know.
6. Grievance
Learners who believe their accommodation rights have been violated may file a grievance under the institution’s Grievance & Appeals Procedure or directly with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights.
